In fall 2019, the organization administered a survey to Baltimore City Schools to understand mentoring programs currently available to students, the design of those mentoring programs, existing partnerships, and tools or best practices.
Most schools operated a mentoring program with the School Integrated Program being the most common type, and Small Group Mentoring being the most common model used. Finding consistent and/or available mentors is a common challenge, and respondents said they could benefit from support with recruiting mentors.
